It is a place of worship of the Buddhists of Tibetan origin. It was built in 1945 under the guidance of the late venerable Trulshi Rimpoche, head of the Nyingma orderof Tibetan Buddhism.

The hill station recorded the minimum temperature in December and January when the temperature has gone below 2 degree centigrade. One can see fog covering the hill station like a blanket. Snowfall is a common feature mostly found on the upper part of the hill town.
